Course Synopsis
As Singapore accelerates its green building transition, the pressure on building owners and facilities managers is growing. Rising energy costs, tightening green building requirements, and increasing operational demands are driving an urgent need for smarter, more efficient building management. In response, artificial intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies are rapidly transforming how buildings are operated—enabling real-time optimisation, predictive maintenance, and deeper decarbonisation across the built environment.
This SGBC Webinar, supported by SGBC Member Univers, will explore how AI-powered platforms enable autonomous building energy and operations management. The session will cover how IoT sensors and AI models work together to identify inefficiencies and automate actions, followed by real-world case studies demonstrating energy savings and cost reductions. A platform walkthrough will also illustrate how these solutions can be implemented in practice.
Han Yong Lee
Director, Solutions Architecture, AI Services, Univers Pte. Ltd.
Speaker Biography
Han Yong Lee leads presales and solutions architecture at Univers. With experience across commercial real estate, food and beverage facilities, and critical infrastructure in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region, he works at the intersection of operational technology and enterprise artificial intelligence (AI).
Han Yong works with building owners, operators, and facility managers across Asia to translate AI and internet of things (IoT) capabilities into operational outcomes. He specialises in connecting building systems data — from Building Management System (BMS) to Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) — into intelligent digital twin platforms that enable energy optimisation, predictive maintenance, and agentic workflows. His focus is on making AI work not just with data, but with the organisational knowledge behind it.
Presentation Synopsis
Han Yong traces the journey from raw sensor data to agentic AI workflows, showing how BMS, CMMS, and IoT systems come together in intelligent digital twin platforms. He explores how AI moves beyond dashboards to drive real energy optimisation, predictive maintenance, and autonomous operations across commercial and critical facilities.
Henry Tan
Regional Director, Business Development, Univers Pte. Ltd.
Speaker Biography
Henry Tay is the Regional Director of Business Development at Univers. With over 15 years of experience spanning industrial automation, industrial internet of things (IIoT), renewable energy, and smart city solutions across Southeast Asia and beyond, Henry brings deep domain expertise in digital transformation, decarbonisation, and sustainable infrastructure.
Henry works with major enterprise clients including airports, real estate investment trust (REITs), and financial institutions across the Asia Pacific region, crafting value-driven, multi-product platform solutions that deliver measurable energy and cost savings.
Presentation Synopsis
Henry unpacks how leading enterprises are putting AI-driven building management into practice. Through concrete local examples, he illustrates how organisations are achieving measurable energy and cost savings, and what it takes to move from pilot to platform-wide deployment across complex, multi-site portfolios.
