Balancing the Net Zero Equation
Responsible for more than a third of global carbon emissions, the built environment sector plays a key role in helping the world achieve its sustainability targets through low-carbon and net zero building principles. But how do we balance the net zero equation?
While advancing net zero may seem like a daunting endeavour, the concept becomes more actionable with clarity and better understanding. In this exclusive series organised by SGBC, we break down the key components and variables of going zero. From understanding the net zero concept, to developing measures specific to your business and finally to formulating the roadmap to start your own journey to zero, a specially curated line-up of industry experts active in the Asia Pacific will share critical perspectives, experience and insight.
To get a head start on advancing net zero, this series is not to be missed.

Sustainability by Design
Singapore has raised its climate ambitions to reach net zero emissions by 2050, a major step up from the previous long-term goal to achieve net zero in the second half of the century. As the built environment is responsible for more than 20% of the country's carbon emissions, the built environment must urgently accelerate the adoption of sustainability by design principles - enabled by green building technology - to make a net zero impact on the nation's carbon aspirations.
In this course, hear from industry experts as we explore the different facets of approaching sustainability by design. Gain insights on sustainable whole-of-estate planning, design circularity, addressing embodied carbon emissions, utilising digital twins for energy optimisation as well as what goes behind the creation of a positive energy building.
