This course is a requirement for Green Mark Associate certification and will cover key green building topics, including energy efficiency, green building materials and technologies, indoor environmental quality and water conservation. The course content is intended to enhance and reinforce knowledge on built environment sustainability.

Part 1: Asynchronous Online Learning  

Learn about built environment sustainability, green building strategies and the local legislative framework at your own time and pace with the course's asynchronous e-learning package.

Part 2: Online Assessment  

When you are ready, take the 30-question multiple-choice online assessment, accessible anytime. Pass the assessment within 2 attempts to clear Part 2 of the course.

25 April 2024
Part 3: Applied Learning Workshop  

Attend an in-person workshop led by a Green Mark Accredited Professional (GMAP) to refresh green building concepts and strategies as well as learn from exemplary Singapore green building case studies.

Receive your Green Mark Associate Certification  

Once all parts of the course have been verified as complete and all documents submitted are in order, the Green Mark Associate certification will be issued and is valid for 12 months.

As the Programmes Head for the Asia Pacific Region at the World Green Building Council, Joy Gai gracefully navigates the world of sustainability, delivering impactful programs that engage Green Building Councils (GBCs) and partners across three key areas. Working harmoniously within the WorldGBC Engagement & Networks department, Joy builds strong connections with GBCs and partners throughout the Asia Pacific.

A passionate advocate, teacher, and coach for sustainability, Joy blends her technical expertise as a principal engineer and project leader with her fervor for creating a greener world. With numerous groundbreaking projects under her belt, including net-zero energy buildings and eco-cities, she combines her professional certified life coaching skills and positive psychology practices to emphasize that a sustainable mindset, compassion, and commitment are integral to driving and empowering positive change.

While dedicating part of her time to the WorldGBC, Joy also leads the Joy of Sustainability LLP—a platform that promotes sustainability while offering coaching services to bridge the gap between sustainability design, delivery, and user engagement. Through her guidance, clients discover clarity and identify their true sustainability goals.

Joy is also a Master Certified Coach (MCC) specialises in mindset development using the principles of positive psychology, serving both as a life coach and executive coach.
